Internship Details

About Internship:

Owing to the increasing focus on health and the risks involved with consuming conventionally grown food, there has been a shift towards organic food consumption in India. The annual growth rate of organic consumption is 25% in India, which is higher than the global growth rate, thus it is important to understand this shift in the Indian market as well as the future of organic produce in India.

Having ventured in organic cultivation, Naandi wants to understand the larger market for the organic produce from both a seller and a buyers’ perspective in Bangalore and Delhi, two cities that have seen an exponential growth. We aim to understand the current situation of the organic agriculture industry in terms of what the buyers have to offer and how the businesses are growing taking into consideration the backend services and sales as well as the consumer’s perspective.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. The surveyors will have to visit Organic produce stores as well as the grocery stores selling organic produce
to conduct their market research with the material provided to them.

2. The Surveyors will also have to conduct a Consumer Survey as well.

3. The survey will be conducted over a span of 3 weeks at the end of which the surveyors will have to present
their reports and presentation to the Supervisor

4. The surveyors will have to present their Supervisor a daily report by email

5. The survey should be conducted with the material provided by Naandi Foundation only

6. The surveyor will be considered as a full time intern, and are liable to answer the Supervisor during work

Further, we enriched our work with communities by bringing in various arms of government, private sector, technical experts and other stakeholders. We also have a research arm that takes up action research and other field based trials to check out innovations and measure their impact, results of which could be used to positively influence policy. Our ideology revolves around building sustainable models within the social sector that deliver critical services efficiently and equitably to underserved communities.

Naandi, with a team of 300 + full time professionals and over 3000 + front line development workers, often recruited and trained from within the communities, has expanded its foot print year on year across 16 states: Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, West Bengal, Odisha, Kerala, Punjab, Haryana, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh touching the lives of more than 5 million underserved people so far.

Currently, Naandi is demonstrating the value of creating new social entrepreneurs by setting up social businesses that are even more efficient and closer to community needs than traditional grant-funded activities. Thus, safe drinking water, support to elementary school going urban children, skilling for unemployed youth and agriculture marketing are the four ventures in existence over and above the free services of Naandi.
